Affordable Decor from Walmart for the Farmhouse Lover
Good Morning and happy Saturday to ya! The weather over here in New England has been BEAUTIFUL the last couple of days and I am loving it. I’m hoping it stays like this from here on out, but trying not to get my hopes up lol! The humidity finally decided to come out so that is definitely helping it feel much warmer even when its only in the 50’s or 60’s.
It has been a while since I have done a decor post like this one. But I figured since my modern farmhouse guest bedroom has been such a hit I would create a similar post with some affordable farmhouse decor options from Walmart! I feel like Walmart has a bad reputation because people don’t always have the best experiences shopping in store, whether that be for long lines or the interesting crowd of individuals (I think we all know what I am talking about lol). But I feel like when it comes to decor and clothes (sometimes) they are quite the hidden gem!
The post I did with my modern farmhouse guest bedroom is literally the only post that I ever get questions about and it seems to be a hit so I wanted to try to recreate something similar with some new farmhouse finds! I searched high and low online at Walmart to put together a bunch of great pieces that would make the perfect modern farmhouse bedroom, from furniture to decor, you can find it all here!

Furniture
When it comes to designing a farmhouse bedroom the furniture is one of the main items that is going to give a bedroom that farmhouse feel. I tend to gravitate towards wood and metal items, or even a mix of both. If you like the look of fabric, tufted fabric pieces also look great, such as a headboard, bench or accent chair.
Bedding
Anything fabric related, I tend to stick to mostly neutrals like white, tan or grays with a pop of color here and there to accent for whatever season it is! I love using white bedding, even though it never works out in our favor having a dog lol, but I just love how clean and bright it makes a room appear. Ruffles are also a great addition to add some texture to create that farmhouse feel. Throw in some cute accent pillows and blankets to add in the pops of color and texture to complete the look!
Storage & Organization
Storage and organization doesn’t have to be a sore sight! Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE everything wicker! I am also a big fan of metal baskets. Check out my storage and organization post for over a 100 different affordable items to use for some cute and effective storage!
Lighting
I love adding in some lamps with a neutral shade to bring in some more light and to double as cute decor for those side tables or dresser! The first on you see here is the ones I have in my guest bedroom as pictured in the post!
Curtains & Rugs
When it comes to curtains and rugs, I also tend to stick to the neutrals and natural materials. Jute rugs just feel so farmhouse to me and are also a super affordable option (most of the time). We don’t have curtains in our guest bedroom right now but if I were to add some I would definitely choose a white or sheer fabric for it to keep the room bright & airy. I also love the look of the natural blinds or roman shades and think they are always a cute addition to any room!
Decor
Time to put the final touch on your bedroom. I personally love to use anything and everything with wood, glass, metal and add in some faux greenery or real (if you can actually keep them alive, unlike myself haha). As far as the wall decor, I love a good wood sign with a good quote or floral/botanical art with a wood frame! I love decorating and if it weren’t for our current bathroom remodel sitch I would be decorating every room in our house, such as our nursery and our master bedroom. But I am so excited to see the final product of our bathroom (which I promise will be coming soon lol) and can’t wait to share it with y’all. It’s going to look SO good, ahhh!
